GIGL Plus Basics:
7 GIGL Plus sessions scheduled each season
Join With A Team or as an individual.
Scores count in National Jr. Golf Scoreboard.
You DO NOT need to join with a team in order to play.
It is the individual stroke play scores that will be submitted to the Jr. Golf Scoreboard, not the team scores.
The scores will get to the Jr. Golf Scoreboard within a day or two after the event.
You do need 4 on a team to get points in the GIGL Plus team standings.
If 4 players from your team do not participate, you'll still be on a team for this event, but your team will not get points in the standings.
The team score is the total of the best round of 9 holes from 4 players.
A team gets a point in the standings for playing with 4 players and 1 additional point every team it beats.
The cost is only $39 for 36 holes, $20 for 18 holes, and $11 for 9 holes.
Given the low cost, it's a pretty low frills event.
Those playing 36 holes will play from the white tees (about 5,600 yards) - the score card can be found on-line.
Those playing only 9 will play from the red tees and will pick up if their stroke total on a hole hits double par.
No caddying is allowed.
Unless there is a unique need, parents are not allowed to walk the course.
However, parents can watch a decent part of the play from the clubhouse grounds.
And they can walk up the 18th to watch all of the final hole each day if they'd like.
